ALL NIGHT LONG- Widescreen, Japanese Language w/English subtitles. When three teenage boys witness the murder of a young woman they become bonded by their shared experience. When a female friend is raped by a gang of miscreants, the three boys hunt down the perpetrators and slaughter them. (1992)

ATTACK OF THE MUSHROOM PEOPLE- Classic late night film about shipwrecked passengers on an island loaded with mushrooms. They begin to eat them and soon become transforming into “Mushroom People”. A hard-to-find late night classic. (1964)

BAMBOO TORTURE GARDEN (aka Chinese Torture Chamber)- Widescreen, in Japanese Language w/English subtitles. A Hong Kong “Category 3” (exploitation) classic set during the Sung Dynasty, as a corrupt magistrate subjects a lovely, innocent young bride to inconceivable physical punishments after “convicting” her of killing her husband (by causing his penis to explode, of course). Plenty of raunch and unintentional humor. Viewer discretion advised. (1994)

BATTLE ROYALE- Ninth grade students are taken to a small isolated island with a map, food and various arms. They have to fight each other for three days long until the last one remains and are forced to wear a special collar which will explode when they break a rule. Warning! Very unnerving and graphic. Mature buyers only. (2000)

BEASTS (aka Flesh And The Bloody Terror) – Chinese with English subtitles. A group of young girls on a camping trip encounter four thugs who take one of the girls and they rape her. Her father hearing about this takes vengeance in his own hands A Chinese version of “I Spit On Your Grave”. (1980)

BEAUTY EVIL ROSE- If the concept of exploitation hasn’t opened to you yet, here is a recommended low-budget Chinese film that exploits so many elements that it’s hard to count them! Beauty Evil Rose begins like a soft-core sex film but the rest of the stuff is some kind of combination of thriller, horror, fantasy, comedy, soft-core and a cop movie genres… all this in irresistible cheap way. Just look at those scenes involving witchcraft and “snakes” coming out from the mouths. A very fun experience. (1994)

BEHEADED- An executioner beheads his 1000th criminal, and unleashes a demon army headed by an evil witch called the Blood Lotus. Asian language w/English subtitles. (1993)

BIOTHERAPY- “Biotherapy” is a fairly nasty Japanese gore-fest about a group of Japanese scientists stalked and viciously butchered by a creepy-looking alien. This relatively unknown ultra low-budget splatter film is rather well-made and captivating. It is a short film, about 35 minutes, but well worth it. Japanese language only. (1986)

BIO-COPS- Over at Texas Red River Army Depot, sinister research in ongoing. Hong Kong scientists are working to create superhuman Painless Warriors, hoping to beat similar Russian plans. BLACK MAGIC WITH BUDDAH (Nao Mo) – Hong Kong horror w/English subtitles. THE BLACK MAGIC WITH BUDDHA manages to be hilarious, surreal and horrific, all at the same time. Just when you think it can’t get any stranger, you can bet that the very next scene outdoes the previous in that respect. Some of the absurd highlights include: the refrigerator containing lots of pulsating brains; POV-shots of the brain terrorizing people; a man in a bathtub who is sucked to death by half a dozen living brains; the pulsating brain that breathes heavily (I don’t dare to ask how it manages this!); the brain crawling up a wall; the brain jumping out of a Mona Lisa picture; Ben’s ghastly mutation as he is possessed by the brain; a bizarre exorcism; and much more… (1983)

Akemi knew that a blind woman knife thrower in the carnival was the woman who’s eyes Akemi cut. (1970)

BLOOD SORCERY- A story that is quite common in Asian horror flicks. You will have a good time with this spook-show spectacle. Apart from some quick editing, a few zooms and several cool masks, you will be pleased to watch blood spurting out of tap, a wheelchair that dashes down a steep slope – of course with the user on it – and a nice duel between the bad and the good magician. In Japanese language w/English subtitles. (1986)

DARK WATER- The taut lines of tension throughout the film will have you glued to the screen from the first to the last moment, hooked by the incredibly edgy ambience.
